Mariners Swim Team
For the 2021 summer season, during Phase 4 of RESTORE ILLINOIS, the Mariners will host eight home swim meets and compete virtually against the other teams in the DuPage Swim and Dive Conference. Each of the eight meets and all practices will take place at Jefferson Pool and all attendees will have a screening before entering and need to follow social distancing guidelines. Unfortunately, due to the need for social distancing, the Village of Villa Park will not be offering Mini Mariners. We plan and hope to return to our regular program (having home and away meets, etc.) in the 2022 season.
In order to participate on the team, Swimmers must successfully swim one length of the pool using a legal stroke. There will be a general information meeting via Zoom hosted by the Villa Park Swim Team Parents Association. The Villa Park Swim Team Parents Association helps to organize and run (timers, scorekeepers, etc.) the swim meets for the team. This meeting event is free, but pre-registration is required by May 11 so the Zoom link can be sent electronically to interested participants. Members of the parents’ association board will review social distancing protocols, symptom screeners and swim meet procedures that have been developed with VILLA PARK • Parks & Recreation staff.
Swim Meet Schedule Due to the new meet format for this season, swimmers will be able to select their events for each swim meet. If needed, the coaches will make adjustments to the events selected. Each swimmer will also need to register on the swim team's online team manager platform (Active) to be able to select their events. This separate registration link will be sent by email after your registration with the VILLA PARK • Parks & Recreation has been processed and received by the Villa Park Swim Team Parents Association.
